Water And Wastewater Service to Lamb Weston Delhi Plant

When the Town of Delhi contracted with ConAgra Foods to provide approximately 1.2 million gallons of water daily, along with wastewater services, MML&H was chosen to be the lead design engineer. The challenge would be to make significant upgrades to existing water production and storage infrastructure and nearly triple the capacity of the existing wastewater treatment facility.

MML&H was able to facilitate the design, bidding and construction phase to allow beneficial use for the ConAgra plant in only 13 months. The entire project ultimately included one new water well, rehabilitation of four existing water wells, a 750,000 gallon elevated storage tank, over 17 miles of water main and the upgrade of the existing wastewater facility from 700,000 gallons per day to 2,000,000 per day. The last of seven construction agreements was successfully completed a mere 18 months after site selection. Total project cost was $18.5 million, of which $11 million was spent on wastewater improvements.

At the beginning of the project, the Town of Delhi tasked MML&H with feasibility studies, preparation of system improvement plans and completing funding applications to the appropriate funding agencies, including DEQ and DHH. MML&H was also instrumental in the rate negotiation process and had the privilege to administer and oversee the construction development from start to finish.
