This project expanded the Town of Elizabeth's natural gas distribution system to serve the MARTCO Oakdale Oriented Strand Board (OSB) plant. The project consisted of a new city gate, approximately 2 miles of 6" steel pipeline, and a new plant meter station. The city gate included a tap on an existing interstate gas transmission line, new pipeline meter facility, regulator station to reduce the pipeline pressure from 830 PSIG to approximately 150 PSIG, and odorization facilities. The plant meter station included a rotary meter and regulator facilities to reduce the service pressure to approximately 35 PSIG. This project enabled the Town of Elizabeth to greatly increase its natural gas revenue, while still offering very competitive natural gas rates to MARTCO.
