Working with the Joint Venture Team of Barron, Heinberg and Brocato (architects) and CARBO (landscape architect), MML&H served to provide structural and civil engineering for a new Veteran’s Cemetery in Jennings, Louisiana.

The project involved the Masterplan for the entire build-out of 20 acres located behind the existing Veteran’s Nursing Home. Included in the cemetery are crypts, both single and double depth, columbarium wall niches, in-ground cremains sites, several buildings required for both operations and maintenance, a bell tower, and beautiful landscaping with water sprinklers.

MML&H was responsible for a new independent access from LA 10, which required an extensive drainage study to obtain the LaDOTD permit. The drainage improvements included sub-surface drainage and two large detention ponds to satisfy the “no net increase” requirements. Other MML&H assignments included the design of a water well, the design of a water treatment system, and piping to support a large irrigation system. MML&H also designed the foundation and framing system for all five new buildings, the sanitary sewer system, and the domestic water supply. The State Facility Planning and Control project was completed in May 2020 at a construction cost of $6.02 million.
