This goal of this roadway project was to widen and pave the existing south entrance to the VA Medical Center in Pineville, Louisiana. The existing gravel road was narrow and had extreme safety concerns at a drainage crossing. The existing roadway had been closed due to safety issues from a very steep drop off from the road's edge down to a large ditch and two large drainage pipes. This project alleviated the problem by adding to the embankment to lessen the side slopes and adding a guardrail at the drainage crossing. A much needed third access into the large medical center was also provided by the completion of this project. MML&H provided civil design services including preliminary and construction plans, land surveying and construction administration for this project.
